"Shake hands with Israel's Industry"

You are welcome to join the new initiative of the Israel Canada Chamber of Commerce  “Shake Hands with Israeli Industry” and contribute to Israel 's efforts to recover from the Economic recession and the very high rate of unemployment that Israel has been suffering from for the past two years.

One key to remedying the economic recession and the high unemployment is to increase Israeli exports.  The aim of the “Shake Hands” project is to help Israeli companies, especially SME’s (small and medium size enterprises), to “enter” the Canadian market place.

Ninety percent of Israeli companies are SME's, and for the past two years many of them have suffered from financial difficulties.  Therefore, due to budgetary constraints they cannot afford to pay for the type of professional services that would assist them in entering a new and distant market such as Canada.   

In the “Shake Hands” project our goal is to match volunteers from the local Canadian business community, (both currently active and retired) and Israeli companies. The project has the support of the Embassy of Israel in Canada, click here to read a letter of endorsement from Mr. Haim Divon,  Israel's Ambassador to Canada.  

Please note that the initiative is a joint project with the Government of Israel Economic Mission to Canada. 

How does it work? 

The project has two possible tracks*: 

Subscribe to the “open doors” mailing list
The Chamber of Commerce will distribute by email short profiles of companies that want to seek help in entering the Canadian market. The volunteers, when they find that they can help, will contact the company directly and offer their assistance to “open doors”, by establishing the contact between the company and the potential buyer/distributor/importer/partner.

Escort of a Specific Company
The Chamber of Commerce will match the volunteer with an Israeli company,  taking into account the volunteer’s experience. The volunteer will keep in close contact with the company and help to identify key contacts in the Canadian market that may assist to “open doors”.

*Please note: One can become  involved in both tracks.

The “Shake Hands” project is a voluntary program and no formal, binding relationship will be expected or entered into, between the Israeli company and the volunteer.
